What should I expect during Invisalign treatment?
You begin with a consultation and exam, during which Dr. Bercovitch determines if Invisalign is the best option to enhance your smile. He scans your teeth and uses special software to plan and map the movement of your teeth.
This plan is used to design and create your aligner trays. When your trays are ready, Dr. Bercovitch gives you the first pair. While you can take them out to eat and clean your teeth, you should wear them for at least 22 hours a day for effective treatment.
After two weeks, you come back to the office, so Dr. Bercovitch can check your progress and give you the next set of aligners. Once he’s satisfied that your teeth are responding as expected, he might give you three or four sets of aligners at a time. You can change them every two weeks at home and have check-ups every 6-8 weeks.
Invisalign treatment can take between 6-18 months, with most patients wearing aligners for around 12 months.
